The portal derives fee components as follows:

| Opening a case | CASE_INITIATION + DOCUMENT_FILING + SERVICE |
| Later filing whose filing code contains mot | without regard to letter case MOTION + PROCESSING |
| Any other later filing, including an appearance | PROCESSING |
Appendix D fixes the lawful amount for each component. A change to a filing-code value can change fee treatment and therefore requires coordinated review of both Appendices.
