TITLE NINE — GENERAL PROVISIONS
Rule 55. Jurisdiction and Venue Unaffected
Jurisdiction. These rules shall not be construed to extend or limit the jurisdiction of the courts. The jurisdiction of the Supreme Court is conferred by Const. art. V, § 3; the jurisdiction of the Superior Court by Const. art. V, § 4 and 3 R. Stat. § 131.004; the jurisdiction of the Administrative Court by 3 R. Stat. §§ 141.006 through 141.009; and the jurisdiction of the Magistrate Court by 3 R. Stat. § 131.203.
Personal Jurisdiction. A person, whether or not a resident of the State of Ridgeway, submits to the jurisdiction of the courts of this state for any cause of action arising from the acts enumerated in 7 R. Stat. § 131.107. An objection to personal jurisdiction is raised under Rule 12.
Venue. These rules shall not be construed to extend or limit the venue of actions. Venue is fixed by 7 R. Stat. §§ 131.001 through 131.003 and is administered under Rule 55.1.
Consent. Subject-matter jurisdiction is not conferred by the consent of the parties, by waiver, or by the acceptance of a filing by the Clerk. The acceptance of a filing by the Clerk determines nothing about the court’s jurisdiction or the propriety of venue.
