GRAND JURY INDICTMENT
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF RIDGEWAY:
The GRAND JURY, for the County of Ridgeway, State of Ridgeway, duly selected, empanelled, sworn, charged,
and organized as such at the APRIL Term, AD, 2024, of the Ridgeway Superior Court, upon their oaths present in
and to said Court at said term that JAPAN_2S, hereinafter styled Defendant, be hereby charged as follows.
COUNT 1
ATTEMPTED MURDER
R.C.C. § 3.08 / FELONY
On or about the date of March 22nd, 2024, Defendant was conducting their duties as a National
Guardsmen at the Sterling Port Entrance in Sterling, Ridgeway. Shortly after, the victim arrived
at the Sterling Car Dealer and brandished a firearm for less than a second, facing the opposite
direction as the Defendant. Defendant then retrieved their firearm and discharged it at the victim,
attempting to inflict bodily harm and death against them as she fled from the location.
COUNT 2
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
R.C.C. § 3.02b / FELONY
On or about the date of March 22nd, 2024, the Defendant conducted the actions as described in
Count One, and intentionally and knowingly threatened the victim with imminent bodily injury,
and did such with the display and usage of a government-issued firearm.
COUNT 3
OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT
R.C.C. § 6.06 / FELONY
On or about the date of March 22nd, 2024, the Defendant, a State Guardsmen serving the public,
committed an act relating to their position within the National Guard by improperly discharging
a firearm at a civilian. Defendant was exercising their official functions, and knew such act was
unauthorized as pursuant to the National Guard OPREGS and Basic Recruit Training.
COUNT 4
UNLAWFUL DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM
R.C.C. § 5.05 / MISDEMEANOR
On or about the date of March 22nd, 2024, the Defendant discharged a firearm within Sterling
City Limits, without having legal means necessary, and lacking justification for a self-defense
situation.
AGAINST THE PEACE AND DIGNITY OF THE STATE.
A true bill.
