DEFAULT JUDGMENT
The chronology of this matter is as follows:
1) July 27, 2024 (Approx.): Plaintiff filed an action with this Court.
2) July 28, 2024: Plaintiff filed the Plaintiff’s Complaint which was accepted and approved
for service. Plaintiff served the Defendant with a summons undersigned by the presiding
judge and the Clerk of the Superior Court along with a copy of the Plaintiff’s Complaint.
Defendant appeared before the Court and was allotted five days to file a response to this
Court to answer the allegations against them.
3) August 5, 2024: Plaintiff has moved for a default judgment from the Court and has filed
an affidavit computing the damages.
The defendant having been allotted five days to respond to the allegations against them
and the defendant having failed to respond or otherwise request any additional extensions from
this Court, it is on this 10th day of August, 2024, that this Court will enter a default into this case
and render a default judgment against the Defendant.
AWARDS
The defendant is ordered to pay the plaintiff $5000 in punitive damages and $1,025 in
miscellaneous fees including filing fees and legal fees all by or before August 18, 2024. The
Court will additionally declare that the defendant wrongfully and illegally took the life of the
plaintiff.
