RESPONSE TO THE CIVIL COMPLAINT
Comes now the Defendant, GlenMcDeer, by and through the undersigned counsel, hereby answering the
civil complaint brought forth against them.
GENERAL DENIAL
Unless otherwise specified, the Defendant denies all allegations in the aforementioned complaint and
disputes that the Plaintiff is entitled to relief.
INTRODUCTION
The Defendant disputes and denies that all claims presented within this section are false/defamatory.
Moreover, the Defendant denies and disputes that any harm was created as a result of these statements.
PARTIES, JURISDICTION & VENUE
The Defendant does not contest the jurisdiction of the court/that the venue is proper at this time; nor,
does the Defendant contest any of the listed parties.
FACTS
The Defendant disputes all facts contained within the complaint insofar as the alleged defamatory nature
of the Statements. All statements made by the Defendant are within constitutional protection.
Defendant denies that the billboard advertisement produced was neither “false and defamatory.” See Civ.
Complaint at 3.
FIRST CAUSE OF ACTION
Defendant admits that a billboard was published labeling the Plaintiff as a ‘sugarcane regulating
official;’ though the defendant contends that this is a fair comment as the Plaintiff has previously stated that he
wishes to illegalize the cultivation, possession, and selling of sugarcane by the public.
Defendant denies any harm to the reputation or business prospects of the Plaintiff; moreover, the
defendant denies that the statement were made in a willfully malicious manner. The Defendant contends that the
statement made was fair and substantially truthful.
PRAYER FOR RELIEF
The Defendant contests all prayers for relief by the Plaintiff, and asserts that the Plaintiff is not entitled
to any relief.
