STATEMENT OF PROBABLE CAUSE
My name is Detective mos40 with the Palmer Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit. I
am a graduate of Class 8 of the Law Enforcement Training Center and have been employed within the
Palmer Police Department for the past 7 months, with the last three of those months spent in the Special
Investigations Unit.
As a law enforcement officer and Bar certified attorney, I have extensive knowledge of law
enforcement investigations and a superior understanding of criminal law and legal procedure. Supported
by this extensive knowledge, I have probable cause to believe the following:
On the 29th of May 2022, Sergeant TaxesArentAwesome of the Ridgeway County
Sheriff’s Office was patrolling throughout the City of Sterling Heights while carrying out his
duties as a law enforcement officer. On multiple occasions throughout his patrol, Sergeant
TaxesArentAwesome witnessed the defendant utilize a police-grade M2-A to carry out acts of
violence against the Residents, Tourists, and Public Servants of our state. First seen in Exhibit A,
the defendant, while being pursued by Sergeant Taxes, pulled through the left garage-bay of
Rafael’s Auto Care and came to an abrupt stop. Upon stopping their vehicle, the defendant
suddenly exited and equipped their M2-A. Within moments, the defendant managed to fire into a
crowd of people ultimately killing both Sergeant TaxesArentAwesome and Park Ranger
MedinaLUV, and wounding two civilians that were present at the scene. Shortly after the
aforementioned events unfolded, the defendant was flung by a glitched vehicle, ultimately
resulting in their death, and thus the loss of their previously possessed M2-A. Knowing this, it is
reasonable to stipulate that future occurrences of the defendant possessing an M2-A seen within
the recording Sergeant TaxesArentAwesome’s patrol on 05/29/2022 should automatically
constitute a separate count of 5 R.C.C. § 08 - Unlawful Possession of Police-Grade Equipment.
The defendant can then be seen in the recording again, about two (2) minutes after their death,
utilizing another illegally possessed M2-A while engaging in a shootout with law enforcement.
As seen in Exhibit B, during the aforementioned shootout, the defendant managed to shoot and
kill multiple law enforcement officers, including Sergeant TaxesArentAwesome and Trooper
xXBoomblast339Xx. The defendant then fled the scene and remained out of sight from law
enforcement until they were found again at the Sterling Car Dealership (Timestamp - 25:24),
where a shooting had broken out moments before. Sergeant Taxes initiated a pursuit with the
defendant (Timestamp - 25:47), who was in the same vehicle from the prior scene, which
continued throughout Sterling Heights until the defendant ultimately drove into the water under
the small bridge located before the Palmer Tunnel. As seen in Exhibit C, the defendant exited
their vehicle and began to swim eastbound, when suddenly, they equipped the same M2-A from
the shooting in Exhibit B and opened fire upon law enforcement. After successfully shooting and
killing Sergeant Taxes, the defendant was neutralized by other law enforcement officers that
were on-scene.
Title 5 - Section 8 (§ 5.08) of the Ridgeway Criminal Code defines Unlawful Possession
of Police-Grade Equipment as “the act of unlawfully possessing police-grade equipment as a
civilian or while off-duty without the proper departmental permissions. Includes police-issued
firearms, ammunition and any other equipment which law enforcement dispense.”
The defendant, by possessing a police-issued M2-A on two separate occasions, meets the
criteria for two counts of Unlawful Possession of Police-Grade Equipment, seeing as after a
simple review of the defendant’s profile, it is evident that he/she is not a certified Law
Enforcement Officer capable of dispensing or carrying such equipment legally.
APPENDIX OF EVIDENCE

Exhibit B - Second count of possession, first observation at exactly 22:44 into the recording
