As identified in Exhibit A, Defendant Iamthebestlaith is seen attempting to kill unseenarmy with an
illegal and deadly weapon.
COUNT TWO - 5 S.C.C. § 07 - UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF AN ALTERED BLUNT WEAPON
OFFENSE TYPE - MISDEMEANOR
MAX SENTENCE - 10 MINUTES OR $300 FINE
As identified in Exhibit A, Defendant Iamthebestlaith is seen attacking the complainant with a spiked
bat, which is an altered blunt weapon.
STATEMENT OF PROBABLE CAUSE
I am Detective Impediage with the Ridgeway County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. I possess
a large amount of Ridgeway Law Enforcement experience through multiple law enforcement agencies,
accumulating over twelve (12) months of Law Enforcement experience. In addition, I have been employed as a
Detective for the Criminal Investigations Division for over three (3) months. With this experience in mind and
with the resources provided to me as a Detective, I have identified the following criminal charges to have been
committed by Defendant Iamthebestlaith:
On the date of occurrence, being June 08th, 2022, at an unknown time, Defendant Iamthebestlaith is identified
attempting to kill unseenarmy with a spiked bat, being illegal and a very dangerous weapon as outlined in the
Ridgeway Criminal Code and Senatorial Acts/Ordinances. After being interviewed by Detectives two times, we
were able to gain more insight into the reasoning behind the attack and more details relating to the attack,
allowing us to form this criminal information application based on the resources provided. Even with no
cooperation from the defendant for an interview or interrogation, we have probable cause to charge Defendant
Iamthebestlaith with attempted murder, rather than any forms of battery, as despite him only dealing a couple
bars of damage to the victim, we have identified that the Defenadnt would’ve continued assaulting the victim if
it weren’t for police presence within the area he was assaulting the victim, and with the interview from the
defendant, we can confidently note that the victim would’ve been killed by the defendant if it weren’t for the
policy presence within Sterling. Additionally, it is important to note the details which occurred during the
attack, as well as the suspect’s background, especially that not only did the attack persist and go on for a very
long time, in addition to the fact that the defendant used an illegal blunt/weapon, being a spiked bat, which does
more damage than a regular bat, and is illegal compared to the bat, in addition to the fact that the suspect is a
serial felon and has committed several crimes against the state ranging from recent to older; the victim
would’ve been dead if it weren’t for police presence, so we have come to the conclusion to charge the defendant
with attempted murder.
