Statement Of Probable Cause
Your affiant, smashpears, being duly sworn, deposes and states as follows:
INTRODUCTION AND DETECTIVE BACKGROUND
[1] Your affiant is a Lieutenant with the Palmer Police Department (PPD) and the Lead Detective of the
Special Investigations Unit (SIU). I am tasked with investigating all crimes that are committed within the
City of Palmer and other crimes when directed by the Attorney General per 6 R. Stat § 3205. As a law
enforcement officer, I am authorized by law or by a government agency to engage in or supervise the
prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of a violation of State criminal laws.
[2] I joined the PPD on August 10, 2021. I have worked assignments in patrol, traffic, and internal affairs.
The majority of my experience in the PPD was attained during my stint in internal affairs, which lasted for
2 years and 8 months. During this time, I completed 70 misconduct investigations, assisted SIU on
various dealing instances, and was promoted through various leadership positions, from Patrol Officer
through Lieutenant.
[3] The facts of this affidavit come from my review of the evidence, my personal observations, my training
and experience, and information obtained from other law enforcement officers and witnesses. Except as
explicitly set forth below, I have not distinguished in this affidavit between facts of which I have personal
knowledge and facts of which I have hearsay knowledge. This affidavit merely intends to show that
sufficient probable cause exists and does not set forth all of my knowledge about this matter.
[4] I submit this affidavit of probable cause in support of a criminal information alleging that SORAND0M
violated R.C.C. § 4.07 (Vandalism), R.C.C. § 6.05(ce) (Interfering with a Transit Operator’s control of
apparatus), and R.C.C. § 3.10 (Murder in the second degree).
STATEMENT OF FACTS
[5] On or about April 17, 2026, at approximately 1432 hours Central Time, SORAND0M slashed and killed
Ridgeway Department of Transportation (RDOT) employee lmBigPoe on Opal Avenue, at the Ridgeway
Credit Union, in Sterling Heights, Ridgeway County.
[6] Before the shooting, lmBigPoe was on duty with the RDOT, operating an identifiable RDOT Lancaster
Utility vehicle, and wearing an identifiable RDOT uniform.
[7] SORAND0M arrived at the location in a dark gray Actila and parked next to lmBigPoe. SORAND0M then
exited the vehicle, equipped an Axe, and walked towards lmBigPoe.
[8] After walking into lmBigPoe’s RDOT vehicle, they began slashing at lmBigPoe. lmBigPoe is struck several
times and attempts to drive away from SORAND0M. SORAND0M’s close proximity to the RDOT vehicle

slowed down the vehicle’s acceleration and allowed SORAND0M to continue slashing at lmBigPoe,
shattering the windows of the vehicle. SORAND0M was then able to cause the death of lmBigPoe from
their slashing.
BASIS OF PROBABLE CAUSE
[9] Your affiant submits that there is probable cause to believe that SORAND0M is in violation of R.C.C. §
4.07 because the facts determined in the investigation indicate that SORAND0M deliberately damaged
private property, the windows of a RDOT Lancaster Utility, in order to inflict injuries upon lmBigPoe.
[10] Your affiant submits that there is probable cause to believe that SORAND0M is in violation of R.C.C. §
6.05(ce) because the facts determined in the investigation indicate that SORAND0M hindered lmBigPoe,
a transit operator, from control of their vehicle through interference and distraction by maintaining close
proximity with the vehicle with the intent to injure its occupant, lmBigPoe.
[11] Your affiant submits that there is probable cause to believe that SORAND0M is in violation of R.C.C. §
3.10 because the facts determined in the investigation indicate that SORAND0M both knowingly and
intentionally killed lmBigPoe, as demonstrated by the deliberate swinging of a deadly weapon towards
their person.
