Comes forth the State of Ridgeway to seek justice and preserve the dignity of the state and
therein charge the defendant as follows;
COUNT ONE - 6 R.C.C. § 06 - OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT
OFFENSE TYPE - FELONY - 60 MINUTES
On or about March 7, 2026, at the Government Annex Building in Palmer, the defendant, JamesGardai,
while acting in his official capacity as a sworn officer of the Palmer Police Department, did knowingly
and intentionally perform an unauthorized act relating to his official duties, to wit: arresting an on-duty
civil service employee of the Ridgeway Department of Justice in violation of 2 R. Stat. §7202, without
statutory authorization and outside any exception permitted under said statute, thereby committing
Official Misconduct in violation of 2 R. Stat. §7301.
