PETITION FOR ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE
The State of Ridgeway, by and through its undersigned counsel, respectfully petitions this
Court pursuant to 1 R. Stat. § 4202 for an Order directing ARONTELOPNDE (“Defendant”) to
appear and show cause why he should not be declared a fugitive from justice under 1 R. Stat. §
4201.
I. DEFENDANT INFORMATION
Defendant was charged by the Ridgeway Department of Justice on September 17th, 2025,
for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm under 5 R.C.C. § 01 (a misdemeanor) and Unlawful
Possession of Firearms with Intent to Sell under 5 R.C.C. § 02 (a felony).
Defendant was summoned by this Court to appear no later than 10:00 AM (EST) on
September 24th, 2025.
II. STATUTORY BASIS
Under 1 R. Stat. § 4201, a defendant shall be considered a fugitive from justice if the
following conditions are met:
1. A felony indictment or information is issued
2. The defendant fails to appear as required
3. The defendant is afforded time to show cause
4. Proper notice of proceedings and requirement of presence is given

Pursuant to 1 R. Sat. § 4204, the Court must, upon petition of the Government, order the
Defendant to appear and show cause.
III. APPLICATION TO DEFENDANT
1. Felony Information
The State Bureau of Investigations provided the Department of Justice
with an Affidavit of Probable Cause, claiming that ARONTELOPNDE
had unlawfully possessed numerous firearms, with the intent to sell them.
This follows a search warrant that was carried out by the Ridgeway State
Police, where they discovered the firearms inside of two vehicles owned
by the Defendant. Following this, the Justice Department filed criminal
information in this Court.
2. Failure to Appear
The Court, having found probable cause for both accusations, issued a
criminal summons to ARONTELOPNDE. The Defendant was required to appear
no later than 10:00 AM (EST) on September 24th, 2025.
3. Notice
The Justice Department reached out to the Defendant on September 18th,
2025, informing them of the criminal matter and their summons. To this date, the
Defendant has failed to appear.
Accordingly, ARONTELOPNDE must now be compelled to appear before this Court to
show cause why he should not be declared a fugitive from justice.
IV. RELIEF REQUESTED
WHEREFORE, the State of Ridgeway respectfully requests that this Court issue an Order
to Show Cause, directing ARONTELOPNDE to appear before the Superior Court at a
date and time set by the Court and demonstrate why he should not be declared a fugitive
from justice under 1 R. Stat. § 4201.
