Hon. TBD
Docket Number: TEMP-20250731-614
CRIMINAL INFORMATION
COME NOW, I, Tobyrulles4568, Attorney General for the State of Ridgeway, do hereby
charge and accuse Prior of the following offences:
COUNT ONE
CRIMINAL CODE: 3 R.S.C § 10 - Second-degree Murder
CHARGE DESCRIPTION: On July 17, 2025, at the Cyrus Acres Gas Station in Ridgeway
County, the defendant, prior, intentionally and knowingly caused the death of Shawn_Schmidt by
exiting a vehicle and immediately discharging a Stetson-M2A rifle at the victim without
provocation. The victim was struck and killed on the scene. This act was dangerous to human life
and was carried out with intent, fulfilling the elements under R.C.C. § 3.10(a).
The act was not committed in self-defence, was not justified under law, and was corroborated by
video evidence and witness testimony. The defendant's conduct constitutes an intentional
homicide under Ridgeway law.
COUNT TWO
CRIMINAL CODE: 4 R.S.C § 09 - Evidence Theft
CHARGE DESCRIPTION: On July 17, 2025, immediately following the fatal shooting of
Shawn_Schmidt at the Cyrus Acres Gas Station, the defendant, prior, was observed approaching
the deceased's body and picking up items dropped at the scene. The defendant was not an on-duty
law enforcement officer and had no legal authority to retrieve evidence from the vicinity of the
body.
–1–
This conduct violates R.C.C. § 4.09, which prohibits any individual from assuming possession of
dropped items from the vicinity of a dead body, except in narrow circumstances not applicable
here. The defendant was not retrieving previously owned items, nor acting in a law enforcement
capacity, and the act constituted unauthorised interference with an active crime scene.
COUNT THREE
CRIMINAL CODE: 5 R.S.C § 08 Unlawful Possession of Government-Issued Equipment
CHARGE DESCRIPTION: On July 17, 2025, at the Cyrus Acres Gas Station in Ridgeway
County, the defendant, prior, was found to be in possession of a Stetson-M2A, a firearm
classified as government-issued equipment. This possession occurred in a civilian setting, outside
the scope of any official duty, and was not authorised by state law or departmental policy.
Pursuant to R.C.C. § 5.08(a), it is unlawful to possess government-issued equipment in any
off-duty or civilian capacity unless specifically permitted. The defendant was not acting under
any such authorisation, nor did he have lawful access or entitlement to said equipment at the time
of the incident.
Date: 31st July 2025
Respectfully submitted,
