Summary
The Court held that the Superior Court erred in construing Rid. Rule Evid. 55 to require Discord evidence to be authenticated via a client "gif-refresh" and Discord ID display; self-authentication under Rule 55 is optional, with Rule 54 authentication by extrinsic evidence available, and review was de novo because the ruling was a legal, not evidentiary, determination. The Court also rejected a blanket party-presentation prohibition and left the hearsay question for the Superior Court on remand. Vacated and remanded.
